There’s a new rumor suggesting that the beloved PlayStation 2 game Star Wars: The Clone Wars might make its way to the PS4 and PS5 later this year. Several of the classic Star Wars games have been reissued on the latest PlayStation consoles, available for individual purchase on the PlayStation Store or as part of the PlayStation Plus subscription service.
A Star Wars game that has yet to make its way onto newer systems is Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a 2002 shooter that was released shortly after Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set during the famous conflict and features 16 levels, with the first one expertly recreating the Battle of Geonosis. With expert precision, players could take the helm of iconic Star Wars vehicles and command revered Jedi Knights in their valiant battle against the Separatist army’s plot to unleash a long-lost Sith weapon upon the Republic.
According to Gematsu, a PlayStation Store price tracking website called PS Deals recently discovered a listing for Star Wars: The Clone Wars on PS4 and PS5 that has since been removed. This will be the inaugural occasion where a re-released PlayStation 2 Star Wars game will include a dedicated version for PS5, in addition to the PS4 edition. It will boast a range of new features, including up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.

May’s lineup of older PlayStation games coming to PS Plus on May 21 includes the classic snowboarding game 2Xtreme, the futuristic flight simulator G-Police from 1997, and the unique 1998 title Worms Pinball.
Although there hasn’t been any official announcement yet, it seems that a timeless Star Wars game might be making its way to modern consoles, almost 22 years after its initial release on the PS2 during the Attack of the Clones era. Star Wars: The Clone Wars provides a wide range of levels and vehicle types, making it a great choice for fans looking to dive back into this often-overlooked aspect of the Star Wars gaming universe.
