Uniform application for modeling and texturing was released on iPad

Uniform, the latest release from Sparseal, is now available. Sparseal is a studio that specializes in developing high-quality iOS programs for retopology and UV unwrapping, and their newest creation is sure to impress. This is a cutting-edge modeling, texturing, and rendering app for iPad that was initially announced in November.

Uniform is an incredibly versatile art-focused editor that empowers users to effortlessly create high-poly sculpts, low-poly models with textures, normal maps, PBR painting and laying, 2D designs, and final render settings. One impressive aspect of the program is its unified toolkit, enabling you to effortlessly utilize the same brush for painting on both high-poly models and pixel images.

The Uniform toolkit offers a comprehensive set of tools for professional-level 3D modeling and texturing. It includes a modular system that can handle high-poly sculpting, color/PBR painting, texture painting, normal map sculpting, pixel and vertex painting for precise pixel art, and direct mesh topology manipulation for polygon modeling and retopology. Additionally, it features the powerful Pencil tool from CozyBlanket. Moreover, the program offers advanced features such as seam-based UV unwrapping, subdivision sculpting, object creation, volumetric painting, and much more.

Other features include:

  • Layer Composer: Uniform supports layers for offset and color in all object types (meshes, textures and images)

  • GPU-Accelerated Tools: Uniform takes full advantage of the unified memory architecture and GPU compute capabilities of iPad.

  • Multi-Scene Workspace: Uniform supports working with multiple scenes simultaneously in a single file.

  • Editing multiple objects: Uniform allows you to edit multiple objects at the same time, even if they are of different types.

  • Real-time renderer with support for PBR materials and NPR mixing, spot lights, HDR and automatic tool overlays.

Uniform provides a comprehensive set of tools and capabilities for artists and developers, empowering them to effortlessly create high-quality 3D models and textures on the iPad.

Users who have discovered the iPad Pro as a convenient tool for creating 3D models and scenes will surely appreciate its capabilities.

Whether the program will gain recognition among experts remains to be seen. Given the price of 60 euros and the absence of a demo, it may not be the most accessible option for beginners.
