The final update will be released for Redfall after all

When Microsoft shut down Arkane Austin, it was reported that support for the action game Redfall would be discontinued immediately. It seems that someone has had a change of heart – the game will indeed be receiving its final patch.

The official Redfall account has reported:

Thank you for your support in messages.

We are working to release our final fourth update. It will add reworked Neighborhood and Nest systems, a pause in single player play, an offline mode and more.

We will reveal additional details soon. Thank you all.

Thank you for all your supportive messages.

We are working to release our final update, Game Update 4, that brings revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, Single Player Pausing, Offline Mode, and more.

The press reported that the update was scheduled to be released in May. Arkane Austin had been diligently working on it until the studio’s closure, and the sudden cancellation caught them off guard. If this is indeed true and the patch is nearly complete, it is highly probable that it will be released in the near future.

Just a friendly reminder that Redfall has some exciting content in store for you – including two new characters that are part of the season pass. The season pass was available for purchase even before the release, as part of the Bite Back edition. However, the heroes included in the pass were never made available. Following the closure of Arkane Austin, the Bite Back add-on was taken off the market. Customers who had already purchased it were provided with compensation.

Redfall was a disappointment, both in terms of sales and critical reception. They made empty promises to enhance the game despite the catastrophic beginning, but it’s clear that they won’t deliver.
