The second rune puzzle in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 challenges you to locate three runes within a settlement ravaged by draugr. This place is known as Freyslaug, even though the game doesn’t explicitly mention its name.
You’ll come across this puzzle soon after meeting the overseer on the beach towards the end of the Reykjanest chapter, and then discover the village in the second chapter, Freyslaug.

Where to find runes in the draugr settlement in Hellblade 2
Once you stroll through the village, you’ll stumble upon a gate secured with a mysterious rune and a lifeless body obstructing your way. To advance to the next level, you’ll need to locate three runes. These runes resemble an inverted K, a shape similar to the letter T, and another K-like symbol.
To successfully locate the runes, one must thoroughly explore the village and master the art of playing with perspective.
First rune in Freislaug
Expertly navigate your way back to the main path through town, retracing your steps. You’ll easily spot a body tied to a pole as the path curves to the right. You might observe a red glow (or it could simply be paint). There are two inclined pillars extending from this pillar. You’ll spot another leaning pillar in the distance, tilted in the opposite direction.
Step back from the body attached to the post until the perspective aligns perfectly with a rune resembling a blend of T and Y, known as algiz. Master the art of focus by effortlessly pressing one of the triggers on your controller to effortlessly lock onto the rune.
Second rune in Freislaug
Master the art of turning around from the very first rune. If you enter the second house on the right, you’ll effortlessly navigate through it and find yourself on the road to the right. You’ll encounter a ledge ahead that requires some skill to reach, as the path won’t be straightforward.
Turn left and follow the road to the end – you’ll be heading back to the gate. You will reach another house. Go through it and turn right after the second doorway. Go up the wooden ramp and follow the path back.
Once you’ve reached that ledge you spotted earlier, direct your gaze towards the gate. Master the art of focus to uncover a K-shaped rune formed by a separate arrangement of crimson pillars.
Third rune in Freislaug
Step away from the edge and make your way back to the heart of the settlement. You’ll notice a scorched area to your left. Expertly navigate all the way to the runic gate and then make a left turn, diligently following the fence.
On the back side of the house, go through the destroyed wall. Go inside and go up the stairs on the right.
Once you arrive at the platform, expertly navigate a few steps to the right before gracefully making a left turn to discover the ultimate inverted K rune.
