Nintendo bought the developers of the Hogwarts Legacy port for Switch

On May 21, Nintendo made a professional announcement regarding their acquisition of Shiver Entertainment from the Embracer Group conglomerate. The Miami-based team has successfully brought popular games like Mortal Kombat 11, Mortal Kombat 1, and Hogwarts Legacy to the Nintendo Switch.

In a press release, Nintendo announced the acquisition of Shiver Entertainment, highlighting the company’s expertise in developing and porting titles to various platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.

The transaction amount is undisclosed.

Bloomberg highlights that the Shiver Entertainment team was acquired with the expertise to seamlessly adapt games from third-party publishers to the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s possible that they’ll be the ones to release Call of Duty on the platform of the Japanese corporation, showing their expertise in the gaming industry.

The anticipated release of the next generation of Nintendo Switch is slated to occur before the conclusion of March 2025.
