However, it appears that the pace has started to decrease. As an expert in the field, it is widely understood that Sony has made the decision to no longer release its exclusives on PS5 this year. Which is partially offset by the PC release of their previous exclusives. However, with the PS5 reaching the midpoint of its life cycle and the anticipated release of the PS5 Pro this year, it’s natural to wonder what direction the company will take in the future.
In the coming years, the PS5 is poised to launch a number of highly anticipated exclusive titles. However, they have not yet announced specific release dates and their library of original IPs is relatively limited. Let’s examine the list to gain insight into Sony’s strategy for captivating fans during the second phase of its life cycle.
Silent Hill 2 Remake
The remake of Silent Hill 2 is being developed by Bloober Team, renowned for their work on the Layers of Fear series. We’ve seen a few trailers, but the game appears to have a lot of potential. Given the original’s status as a horror icon, fans have exceptionally high expectations. Gameplay is likely to be revealed in June.

Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac, the studio responsible for the Spider-Man games on PS4 and PS5, is currently working on Marvel’s Wolverine. When the game is released in 2025, it will exclusively be available on the PS5. PC support will be available, but at a later time.
Marathon
Marathon is being developed by Bungie, the masterminds behind Destiny and Halo. It will be a sci-fi action shooter with action elements, and what we have seen looks intriguing. Players will engage in intense battles as highly skilled cybernetic mercenaries, navigating the uncharted terrain of a forgotten colony on the planet Tau Reti IV.
The game will be released on PS5 and PC, offering seamless cross-play and cross-save functionality.
Fairgame$
Fairgame$ is an immersive multiplayer heist game that allows you to become part of an underground movement dedicated to outsmarting and robbing the super-rich. We have yet to see any gameplay footage and the release date remains a mystery.
The game will be available on both PS5 and PC platforms.
Phantom Blade Zero
Phantom Blade Zero was unveiled with great expertise at the PlayStation Showcase in 2023. The game seamlessly blends high-speed action with immersive cinematic gameplay. The game is being developed for PS5 and PC, and the release date has not been announced yet. The demo is scheduled for release in 2024.
Concord

Sword of the Sea
Sword of the Sea is set in a deserted kingdom with a landscape that resembles rolling waves. You will be using a vehicle called a Hoverboard, which handles with expert precision, combining the agility of a snowboard, skateboard, and hoverboard all in one. Master the art of speed and soaring through the air as you navigate through ancient ruins and unveil a long-forgotten mystery. The Journey developers have a distinct and easily identifiable style.
The game has been announced for the PS5 and PC, showcasing a level of expertise that is truly impressive.
Of course, this is not the complete list. There could be some games that haven’t been announced yet. And there are a wide variety of indie exclusives available. However, when it comes to diversity, it falls short. Ultimately, it boils down to action adventure games or multiplayer shooters. Only Silent Hill 2 stands out from the rest.
