War Thunder goes into Active Search

With the upcoming update in the game, air combat will reach a new level.

One of the notable new products includes advanced medium-range radar-guided missiles (ARLGSN), top-notch aviation from Belgium and the Netherlands, the Canadian variant of the Leopard, and various other cutting-edge combat equipment for land, sea, and air operations.

ARLGSN (also known as FOX-3 in NATO countries) are capable of operating independently without the need for continuous target tracking by the pilot or the carrier aircraft’s radar. However, for long-range launches, it is preferable to track the target in SNP mode to ensure accurate radio correction. The initial set of medium-range missiles in War Thunder includes the French MICA, Chinese PL-12, American AIM-120, Russian R-77, Japanese AAM-4, Israeli Derby, and South African R-Darter.

The Su-27SM, the most advanced version of the Su-27 fighter currently available, will be one of the carriers of the new class of missiles. Moreover, it will be equipped with adjustable KAB-500KR bombs and brand new one-and-a-half-ton KAB-1500KR bombs, along with Kh-29TD guided missiles.

Belgian and Dutch aviation will be introduced in the game as a Benelux sub-branch in the neighboring France tree, providing players who choose that country with a wider range of options. The line begins with the Gladiator Mk I and concludes with the F-16AM Block 15 MLU, showcasing a range of impressive aircraft.

Ground-based equipment now features an upgraded version of the Leopard 2A4 main battle tank, equipped with enhanced composite armor modules, an advanced thermal imager, and the option to install anti-cumulative screens and a mask net. For those who enjoy naval battles, the Kondor II, a minesweeper from the GDR fleet, will surely catch their attention.

The release date for the War Thunder update is set for June.
