The Fallout: London mod, which completely overhauls the Fallout 4 game, was set to release on April 23. However, an unexpected setback occurred due to a next-gen update, causing a delay in its launch.
The team’s most recent update was over a month ago, where they announced a delay without providing a new release date. Now, project manager Dean Carter (also known as Prilladog) has shared an update on the Fallout London Discord channel. The project manager confidently expressed:
We began discussions with GOG about releasing Fallout: London after the Nexus encountered problems hosting files. Without the joint help of Nexus Mods and GOG, the release of Fallout: London would not have been possible.
However, immediately after linking to the article, Prilladog wrote about the release:
We hope it will be soon – keep your fingers crossed.
Although this is not the most precise confirmation, it does demonstrate that work is not stagnant. Perhaps the mod will be ready for release in a few weeks.
It’s important to note that Fallout: London is set in post-apocalyptic London, following a nuclear disaster. Bethesda has confirmed that they have no intentions of exploring this scenario, as Todd Howard recently clarified that the game’s events will continue to be centered in the USA. The action is set in the year 2237, situated between the first and second parts and occurring roughly fifty years prior to the events of Fallout 4.
Team London has confirmed that the FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) virus has not reached the UK. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will encounter Deathclaws, Super Mutants, or similar creatures. In the UK, there won’t be any Vault-Tec presence, but there are plans for underground vaults. The factions will also be entirely fresh, ensuring that players won’t come across familiar groups like the Enclave, Brotherhood of Steel, Institute, and others.
Fallout: London is an impressively massive game. The playing space will be as expansive as the territory found in both the main Fallout 4 game and the Far Harbor DLC. Players can look forward to a wide variety of quests, including main quests, side quests, faction quests, and other quests. There are also gang quests and companions to interact with, some of whom have their own quests and detailed relationships. The game features an impressive amount of recorded voice lines, surpassing previous titles like Fallout: New Vegas and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Additionally, players can enjoy updated features such as an ammunition crafting system, redesigned perks and dialogues, new player animations like ladder climbing and swimming, and various fast travel options. The game also includes dynamic weather, smoking mechanics, and even playable guitars.
To successfully play the mod, you’ll need to have Fallout 4 and all of its DLC installed.
