Star Wars Themed Strategy Game is on the Way from Creative Assembly

Creative Assembly, the developer of the Total War series and one of the pioneers of the RTS genre, is developing Total War: Star Wars.

Reports from DualShockers have unveiled that Creative Assembly, the renowned developer of strategy game series, is currently in the works of creating an official and licensed Star Wars game. According to reports, the Sega-owned studio is currently working on Total War: Star Wars, along with two other projects. While the specific games nearing completion remain unknown, it is evident that a new installment of the series is consistently unveiled on an annual basis.

As you may be aware, the latest addition to the Total War series was Total War: Pharaoh, which was skillfully developed by Creative Assembly Sofia, based in Bulgaria, last year. This production received a lot of criticism from the players, leading to the announcement of new games in the series. Meanwhile, the Sussex company based in the UK, renowned for its strategy game series and the development of Alien: Isolation, has revealed that it has a new project in the works for 2023. He set up a studio in Newcastle, England with expertise.

Creative Assembly Develops Strategy Games

Last year, Sega made the announcement that they had decided to cancel the multiplayer shooter action game Hyenas. Unfortunately, this project was completely shelved due to layoffs at the Creative Assembly studio. After this strategic decision, Japanese publisher Sega revealed that the studio would focus on the game genre it excels in.

Sega Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi expressed high praise for Creative Assembly, highlighting their exceptional talent in the real-time strategy genre. Despite this, they also attempted to take on a project similar to Hyenas, an online game in the FPS genre. But at the moment, our goal is to guide them towards the genre they are most familiar with.
