Microsoft Studios has a number of exciting upcoming projects in development that were announced several years ago, but unfortunately, information about them is still quite limited. Everwild, developed by the talented team at Rare studio, is a title that exudes an air of mystery. Announced back in 2019, the game has been shrouded in secrecy and has faced some challenges during development. There seems to be some confusion even among the experts at Rare about the exact nature of this game.
According to journalist Jez Corden, Rare is continuing to work on Everwild. During the Xbox Two Podcast, Corden mentioned that Everwild is currently in development and assured fans that it has not been canceled, despite the unlikelihood of it being shown at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.
What type of game can we expect? Corden doesn’t have a definitive response to this question, although he did mention that it will be a co-op multiplayer game. Last year, it was reported that after the relaunch, Everwild would undergo a transformation, incorporating elements from Viva Pinata, another popular game developed by Rare for the Xbox 360.
In 2021, rumors emerged suggesting that Everwild had been in development for an impressive five years. Considering the extensive development period, it’s rather astonishing how limited our knowledge is regarding this game. But it’s reassuring to know that Rare has been working diligently to establish a well-defined concept for the game, and it’s only a matter of time before they unveil more exciting details.
