Handheld consoles are becoming increasingly popular, with the likes of Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and other successful devices. Sony has made a comeback in the portable segment with the PlayStation Portal remote gaming device, and it seems like the company has another exciting project in the pipeline.
As per the reliable Russian journalist Anton Logvinov, who has a track record of delivering accurate Sony-related news, the company is currently developing a new portable PlayStation. Logvinov mentioned that the device will come with a solid lineup of PS4 games at launch. It’s uncertain if the new system will support all PS4 games directly or if Sony will need to adapt them for the new platform.
Logvinov also mentioned that retailers have expressed skepticism about the reception of the new portable console among the mass market.
