Appearance and functionality

The Infinix NOTE 14 boasts a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED screen that delivers vibrant visuals. With a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a resolution of 1080 by 2436 pixels, you can enjoy smooth and detailed display like a pro. The 10-bit matrix further enhances the color accuracy for an immersive viewing experience. There is a well-designed cutout at the top for the front camera. There is no protective film attached to the surface when it comes from the factory, but the package does include protective glass and a kit for easy installation. At the top, the display is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass, but it wouldn’t hurt to have some extra protection.

The screen with narrow frames of 2.1 mm is highly responsive and has excellent contrast – both in 60 Hz mode and in 120 Hz mode, there was no sign of flickering, trailing, or twitching, whether in the shell itself or in games. The brightness level of 1300 nits is sufficient for optimal visibility even on a sunny day.

With the MagCharge case, you can effortlessly charge your device wirelessly at a powerful 20 W. The smartphone comes with a cutting-edge chip from the company, known as Cheetah X1, that offers lightning-fast charging and ensures optimal battery protection. With a conventional charging unit, the charger is able to handle 45 W of power effortlessly.

With hyper mode, you can effortlessly charge your NOTE 40 to 50% in just 20 minutes. With smart mode enabled, you can effortlessly optimize your device’s performance. Additionally, the low charging temperature mode is designed to help prolong the lifespan of your battery. The user has access to all available options in the settings.

The 5000 mAh battery effortlessly lasts for a full day of use. I played games for a solid 2 hours, making sure to adjust the screen brightness to an optimal level. The device also offers bypass charging functionality, allowing you to play for extended periods by conveniently connecting your smartphone with a wire.

The Infinix NOTE 40 boasts a sleek and streamlined design, free from any superfluous curves. The rear panel features a camera block consisting of a powerful 108 MP main module, a 2 MP depth sensor, a 0.02 MP light sensor, and a bright ring flashlight. The ring emits a white glow in the black color (although it appears more like gray) as per the review, while the gold version allows for RGB backlighting.

On the bottom of the smartphone, you’ll find a convenient tray that can hold two SIM cards and a memory card. Additionally, there’s a USB port for easy connectivity and a speaker and microphone hole for clear audio. There is a hole at the top for the second speaker, providing stereo sound. Expertly positioned on the right are the power and volume buttons, while the left side remains elegantly minimalistic.

The Infinix NOTE 14 is equipped with the advanced 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 processor in the Ultimate version, delivering exceptional power and performance. The smartphone comes with 8 GB of RAM and has the option to expand the memory by an additional 8 GB. The model comes with a generous amount of internal memory – 256 GB, which is more than enough for any task. The device utilizes its own XOS operating system shell, which is based on Android 14.

Performance. Synthetic tests

We tested the performance of Infinix NOTE 14 on AnTuTu, Geekbench and 3DMark. The results are in the screenshots. All tests were carried out at standard settings.

Performance. Game tests

The Helio G99 Ultimate chipset and Mali-G57 MP2 video core still cope well with medium settings of current games, but you shouldn’t expect anything more: in online shooters and undemanding projects you can get smooth 60 frames, in games like Genshin Impact you’ll have to reduce settings for the game at 30 FPS.

Results and awards

Infinix NOTE 40 is an excellent choice for users seeking a device with a spacious, vibrant display and sleek design. In addition, the smartphone boasts a sleek and minimalist design, along with impressive gaming performance. Wireless charging is available as a bonus for those who prefer a wire-free experience.
