Prism Herb is a key ingredient for many useful consumables in StarRupture. Players will need plenty of it to unlock crafting recipes and progress through the endgame. However, this rare plant is difficult to find, and devastating “Rupture Waves” that occur every few minutes make gathering it a challenge.
Luckily, we’ve found a good place to farm this herb, which will help players stock up on resources and unlock all the possibilities at their food station. Craft the best consumables to withstand all the dangers of Arcadia-7 with this step-by-step guide.
Where to find Prismatic Herb in StarRupture
Prism grass is a lavender-like plant that typically grows near bodies of water (like hydrobulbs). It can be identified by its lilac-blue color and the butterflies fluttering around it .
These plants are most commonly found in mid- and late-game zones, particularly in areas marked as promising for base construction, such as the central-eastern zone of Arcadia-7 or in “Attainable.” The grass grows closer to the center of the map near ponds or rivers, but away from areas with high concentrations of Vermin and radiation.
There’s a pond near a hill in the eastern part of the map, if you head right from the initial spawn point (the Orbital Lander). If you go straight past the “Abandoned Settlement,” you’ll find yourself on higher ground (hills), then on a plateau. Beyond the plateau are various important resources: quartz, sulfur, pure titanium, tungsten, and helium-3.

But the most important thing in this area is the pond in the middle. It’s filled with hydrobulbs, and a small island in the center is home to abundant clumps of prism grass.
Remember that all vegetation on Arcadia-7 is destroyed during the “Rupture Wave.” Plants should be harvested between waves, as the flora quickly regenerates afterward. Waves occur periodically and randomly, so their exact start time is unknown. If a wave catches you far from your base, you can quickly mine a meteorite and build a small shelter for protection.
What is prism grass used for?
Prism Grass is required to unlock recipes:
- Calorie chewing gum (restores 40 calories).
- Water Gum (Restores 100 hydration).
- Nourishing chewing gum (restores 30 calories and 40 hydration).
- Energy Boost Chew (Triples energy regeneration. Adds 40 toxicity).
- Infection Resistance Plasma (doubles infection resistance for 10 minutes. Adds 40 toxicity).
Unlocking all of these recipes requires around 200 units of Prismatic Herb, plus additional resources for crafting. Corruption Resistance Plasma and Energy Boost Gum are especially useful against hordes of “Pests.” Use these consumables to gain a buff, boldly charge into hordes of these creatures, and collect their biofacts —biological samples that can be delivered to the Analysis Station for data points.
