Genshin Impact Brewing: A Guide to Materials, Skills, and Constellations

Varka is a 5-star Anemo character who will likely be added to Genshin Impact in version 6.4.

Varka is expected to be a buffed 5-star character on his banner in 6.4, but will definitely return to the game in the future when the banner cycle reaches him again.

If you want to prepare for his arrival, we’ve compiled information on Varka’s Ascension materials and talent materials so you can level him up to the max right away. To help you understand how to play him, we’ve also detailed everything we know about Varka’s skills and Constellations .

Cooking Skills

Varka is a 5-star Anemo character who uses a greatsword .

Considering this is a beta test leak from hakush that may change before release, here’s a quick breakdown of Varka’s skills in Genshin Impact :

Element : Anemo.
Rarity : 5 stars.
Weapon : Two-handed sword.
Normal Attack : Favonia’s Sword Style: Dancing Light.
Elemental Skill : Wind-Driven Execution.
Elemental Burst : Avatar of the Northern Wind.
Passive Talent 1 : Dawnwind’s March – When a Pyro , Hydro , Electro , or Cryo character is in the party , every 1000 Attack Power increases Varka’s Anemo damage bonus by 10%, as well as his damage bonus from the corresponding element (only one of these types can be selected). The maximum damage bonus this way is 25%.

Additionally, if there are at least two Anemo characters in the party OR at least two characters of the same element among Pyro , Hydro , Electro , or Cryo , then the normal attacks, charged attacks, special charged attack “Azure Devourer”, and special elemental skill “Four Winds Ascension” that Varka deals in the “Assault Rush” state will deal 140% of the original damage.
If at least two Anemo characters AND at least two other characters of the same element among Pyro , Hydro , Electro , or Cryo are present in the party at the same time , the said effect is increased to 220%.

Passive Talent 2 : Hexerai: Hidden Rite – Enhances the special elemental skill “Four Winds Ascension”: When Varka hits an enemy with a normal attack while in the “Assault Charge” state, the cooldown of “Four Winds Ascension” is reduced by one second.

Varka’s normal attack is Favonia’s sword style: Dancing Light.

Pressing the normal attack button causes Varka to perform up to five consecutive attacks. Holding the attack button causes Varka to expend stamina to dash forward and deliver a powerful double slash.

Like most falling attacks, Varka’s slam into the ground deals area-of-effect damage and damages all enemies on its way to the ground.

Varka’s Elemental Skill – Wind-Driven Execution

The effect of the Wind-Driven Execution skill differs depending on whether you press the button or hold it while using Varka’s elemental skill.

A short press causes Varka to leap forward with a slash that deals Anemo damage in an area, after which he enters “Assault Charge” mode. In this mode, the damage of his normal attacks is increased, but Varka cannot perform falling attacks. To compensate, Varka’s greatswords will deal appropriate elemental damage based on the party members’ elements when using normal and charged attacks. Importantly, this elemental damage cannot be overwritten by other infusions.

Additionally, if the party includes Cryo , Electro , Hydro , or Pyro characters , the skill “Wind-Driven Execution” is transformed into a special elemental skill, “Four Winds’ Ascension.” In this case, Varka deals the corresponding elemental damage along with Anemo damage . He can also expend skill charges to perform a special charged attack, “Azure Devourer,” which costs no stamina and deals the corresponding elemental damage along with Anemo damage .

Holding the button causes Varka to leap forward. The distance of the leap depends on how long the button is held to charge the attack.

Varka’s Elemental Burst – Avatar of the Northern Wind

Varka’s Elemental Burst unleashes a powerful double slash in front of him that deals two instances of Anemo damage .

If you have Cryo , Electro , Hydro , or Pyro characters in your party , the first hit will be converted and deal the corresponding elemental damage according to the priority order of those elements.

Materials for Varka’s talents

To unlock Varka’s full potential, you’ll need to level up his skills using talent materials, which vary for each character.

According to honeyhunterworld , Varka will require a lot of Reinforced Drive Shafts and Freedom materials to reach its full potential.

Since Varka has three talents, to fully level up all of his abilities you will need three times the amount of materials listed in the table below.

Like talents, Varka’s Ascension requires specific materials to increase his health, attack, defense, and crit effectiveness.

According to the same leaks from honeyhunterworld , to fully upgrade Varka’s capabilities, you will need to collect a lot of Wolf Hooks and materials from the Drive Shaft series .

Unlike talent materials, the Ascension materials listed below only need to be spent once to raise Varka to the maximum character level. Reaching certain Ascension levels also rewards Fateful Encounters , which can be spent on standard and entry-level banners in Prayers for characters and weapons.

“Come, friend, let’s dance under the soft moonlight” (C1) : When Varka enters the Assault Rush state, he gains one additional charge of his Special Elemental Skill. Additionally, after entering Assault Rush, Varka gains the Lyrical Libation buff. This means that when using a Special Elemental Skill or performing a Special Charged Attack, Varka can consume this buff to deal 200% of the original damage with Four Winds Rising or Azure Devourer.
“When the dawn comes, our journey will take off” (C2) : When using a special elemental skill or performing a special charged attack, Varka will perform an additional strike that deals Anemo damage in an area equal to 800% of his attack power.

“Oh friend, do not drink the bitter wine that brings tears” (C3) : Increases the level of Cooking’s elemental skill by three. Maximum level is 15.
“For no one will take away our freedom of song” (C4) : When Varka triggers the Disperse reaction , all nearby party members gain a 20% Anemo damage bonus , as well as a damage bonus of the corresponding element involved in the reaction. The effect lasts 10 seconds.
“Fill the goblet with good wine, for tyrants come and go” (C5) : Increases the level of Varka’s Elemental Burst by three. Maximum level is 15.
“Beloved Mondstadt, you will shine unwaveringly” (C6) : Increases the “Assault Rush” status:
- For a short time after using a special elemental skill, pressing Varka’s elemental skill or holding down the normal attack button will not consume Four Winds Ascension charges and will allow you to perform a special charged attack.
- After performing a special charged attack, pressing Varka’s elemental skill will activate Four Winds Ascension without consuming its charges.
- The Azure Fang Oath effect from the Wind Vanguard passive talent is now enhanced, with each stack now increasing Varka’s critical strike chance by 15%.
