Let’s get one thing straight: the visual novel with horror elements “Bunny” has a total of 20 different endings, which we detail in a separate guide. Many of them result in the death of the characters, so they can’t be considered good endings. However, there are several endings in which the characters survive. And it’s important that they don’t become monsters or kill anyone. Two of these “good endings” will be discussed below.
To reach the “Contract with the Devil” and “Genius and Darkness” endings, you must fulfill a number of conditions and find numerous important items and clues throughout all five episodes. The differences between the two endings are minimal, as the outcome depends on the final choice in the fifth episode. Anton, Olya, and Polina survive, but what you decide to do with Polina will impact the future of all the main characters in the novella.
How to get the good ending – choices in episode 1
The first important choice in this episode revolves around the events in Anton’s house. When the police arrive and tell you about Vova, who’s missing, you’ll soon gain relative freedom of movement between the kitchen, hallway, and yard. First, go to the kitchen and talk to Anton’s mother, so he can lie to her and claim the TV is broken again. After she leaves, click on the side of the refrigerator to get Senior Lieutenant Tikhonov’s number, which he gave you during his recent visit.
Anton then heads into the forest, where he finds a strange child’s mitten. You need to take this mitten, as it belongs to the missing boy Vova and is the first important piece of evidence in the case.
The next clue can be found in the same episode. When Anton returns home and decides to spend the evening with his sister, Olya, the TV starts acting up. You need to “Tune” the TV instead of “Search” for videotapes in the cabinet. Eventually, you’ll watch a strange report about the Master of the Forest and record it on videotape.
How to get the good ending – choices in episode 2
On your way to school , you’ll meet a girl in a fox mask , whom Anton will decide to nickname Alice . She’ll hand you a handful of candy. Accept it and take the treats to receive Turbo gum. Inside the gum will be an insert with a Mercedes-Benz car, which will interest Roma in the future and allow you to acquire an important tool.
Before entering the school building, be sure to click on the man standing under the tree on the left. This is necessary to create a composite sketch of him, so the police can apprehend the killer, Harelip, and prevent him from killing the heroes.
After school, Anton is attacked by Semyon Baburin in the hallway. Be sure to fight him off. Otherwise, the only option is the Bunny/Lone Wolf route.
After dealing with Semyon, select Alice by clicking the window on the right side to jump out into the backyard. And in the backyard, before examining the graffiti on the wall, at least click on the stranger hiding around the corner to catch his attention a second time.
On your way home with Alisa, you’ll run into Semyon Baburin and his friends. Refuse to wear the mask, and on Alisa’s way, Anton will not only attack Semyon but also win the fight, earning the respect of Romka and Byasha in the process.
When you’re walking with Romka and Byasha to the garage in the forest, be sure to click on the stranger a third time. He’ll be standing in the background, behind the trees, a little further from the tractor. The events of Episode Two won’t affect anything further.
How to get the good ending – choices in episode 3
The first important action in the third episode is to retrieve the missing Semyon Baburin’s ring from Officer Tikhonov’s file. When he arrives during class, wait until he turns his back to the students. Make sure he doesn’t turn his head or look at the audience. At this point, open the file. Then repeat the process, as Anton won’t have time to search the entire file and obtain the crucial piece of evidence.
Immediately after this, select the “Tell” option to begin creating a composite sketch of the Harelip killer. Take your time, be careful. It’s important to create a proper composite sketch so that the police catch the criminal in the future and he doesn’t kill the main characters. To achieve this, choose a short haircut (almost bald), furrowed brows and eyes, a torn lip, a wrinkled forehead, and a nose with a bandage on the bridge. If done correctly, you’ll earn the “Van Gogh” achievement, and Tikhonov will praise Anton.
After class, in the hallway, Romka will take a Polaroid from another student, and Anton, if he took candy from Alice, will offer him a bet. Save and win the game of rock-paper-scissors to get the Polaroid. It will come in handy in the fourth episode of the game!
That evening, Polina will call Anton at home. Don’t fall for this bait and choose the Voltron drawing to continue Romka’s route. Switching to Polina’s route at this point guarantees the bad ending #1, “Schoolboy Killer,” in the game’s fourth episode.
How to get the good ending – choices in episode 4
When Romka suggests going looking for the missing Katya after school, be sure to take Byasha with you. Only with him will you be able to find the ill-fated garage.
Once you reach the garage, don’t go to the police station; instead, take a look inside yourself. After you’ve spoken to Roma and found Katya, save your game and start pressing “Save.” You need to do this continuously, and you should continue doing so after the cutscene. Ultimately, you won’t be able to save Katya, but this approach will ultimately lead to Anton pulling out the Polaroid. Move the camera to the meat grinder containing Katya’s scythe. Take a picture of it to obtain the fourth piece of evidence.
At the end of the episode, you’ll find yourself in Santa Claus’s lair with children wearing animal masks. When they start eating treats and Olya wants to join them, refuse. You’ll soon see their true forms, including learning that Santa Claus is the very same Master of the Forest. Alice will offer you jelly snakes. Refuse them too! This is an important condition, otherwise you’ll be permanently relegated to the Bunny/Lonely branch.
How to get the good ending – choices in episode 5
At the beginning of the episode, when you find the axe and let the dog in , you’ll have to kill it. This is the only way to temporarily buy off the voracious beasts. And Zhulka herself turns out to be no ordinary dog, but some kind of anthropomorphic insect .
It doesn’t matter who you go to—choose Polina or Katya. The key here is that you can earn 4-5 different achievements each along these two routes. But for the good endings, the key is to refuse to take the pills after Anton sees Olya.
Now comes a crucial moment. Everything will happen automatically: Anton will return home (or wake up at home) and decide to call Tikhonov (assuming you took the note with the police officer’s number from the refrigerator back in the first episode). He will then try to convince Tikhonov of the existence of the Master of the Forest. And this will only be possible if all the evidence has been collected: Vova’s mitten and the videotape with the report from the first episode, Semyon Baburin’s ring from the third episode, and the photo of Katya’s braid from the fourth episode (the Polaroid from the third episode). If Tikhonov says he believes you, then you’re on the right track.
Then you absolutely must let the guests in. They’ll be Polina and Romka. Romka won’t come if you’re following Polina’s route. And you simply won’t have the right clues for the good ending in this girl’s route.
When the animals ask for a treat, throw them the dog meat that’s been in the freezer since you killed Zhulka.
The heroes will then begin to run through the forest, and there will be a choice. Romka always saves Polina, so you need to take care of your sister Olya. Then all four heroes will be able to continue their journey.
If you find yourself in a police UAZ with Olya, refuse to wear a mask. That way, the distraught mother won’t kill her children.
Then, when the Master of the Forest offers his mask, refuse to wear it and simply smash it instead. This will rid you of the Master of the Forest.
Finally, the final choice will determine which ending you get out of two possible good ones: if you decide to hug Polina in the car, you will unlock “Contract with the Devil,” and if you don’t, you will get the “Genius and Darkness” ending.
- Contract with the devil : Polina became a famous violinist, and Anton became a comic book author .
- Genius and Darkness : Olya survives, Anton becomes an artist. Together with Polina, they deal with the Devourers, including Byasha, and then forget about what happened.
What about “In a Still Pool”?
Indeed, there is another ending, in which all the characters survive. To reach this ending, you’ll have to follow Polina’s path from the start. You don’t even need all the evidence to convince Tikhonov.
The main thing is to fight back against Semyon and choose Polina at school in the second episode. Take the amulet in the third episode to survive the fourth. Romka will die then. Kill Zhulka in the final chapter, escort Polina (not Katya), and refuse to take the pills. Let the guests in (only Polina will show up) and throw the dog meat to the animals. When the cross falls, pick it up. During the escape through the forest, always choose “Pray.” Yes, everyone will survive, and Anton will even marry Polina, but he will lose contact with Olya. And later, right before New Year’s, the man will become a new maniac.
