Regarding UET
Peshawar’s University of Engineering and Technology (UET) is widely regarded as the country’s preeminent centre of academic research and study in the field of engineering sciences. It first opened its doors as a university in 1980, and today it is home to twenty-two departments that span the entire spectrum of engineering specialisations, from the more time-honored fields like electrical and mechanical engineering to the most cutting-edge technologies like electronics, mechatronics, and industrial engineering. To this day, more than eighteen thousand of our graduates are actively contributing to Pakistan’s development, and many of them have achieved high positions of responsibility and quality in the disciplines in which they have chosen to work. In addition to programmes leading to a bachelor’s degree, there is a rich post-graduate programme that allows students to participate in rigorous training and research leading to a master’s degree or a doctoral degree.
The name of this university was formerly known as “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar,” but on September 20, 2012, it was officially rechristened as “University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar.”

Notification Change of University Name, effective as of August 27, 2018
UET has, over the course of the past few years, successfully finished a number of research and infrastructure development projects with the help of the Higher Education Commission. These projects had a total portfolio value of 9 billion rupees. At the moment, the University of Engineering and Technology in Peshawar has five campuses located in Mardan, Abbottabad, Bannu, Kohat, and Jalozai. These campuses all offer high-quality engineering education to the local population in close proximity to where they live.
UET Peshawar is continually working toward its vision of achieving the greatest degree of engineering excellence and contributing to the socio-economic development of society with the knowledge and expertise of its graduates. This ambition was established when the university first opened its doors. We want both male and female engineers and scientists in Pakistan to be active and knowledgeable in their search for solutions to Pakistan’s most pressing problems, and we encourage both groups to work together. Researchers and students from all across the country come to our university because of our robust research foundation and academic programmes, and we encourage them to bring their unique ideas and fresh points of view to the fields of engineering and technology.
Peshawar Campus
UET, Peshawar had a humble beginning in 1952 when it was founded as a “constituent” institution of Peshawar University. The university itself wasn’t founded until 1980. Peshawar Campus is a representation of the natural beauty that surrounds it because of its location in this historic city. There is a distinct cultural flavour that can be immediately discerned in every aspect of the events that take place on campus, despite the fact that the atmosphere on campus is predominately academic. Our distinctive cultural diversity is immediately evident. Students at Peshawar have their pick of a diverse range of academic specialisations. These are backed by laboratories that are well-equipped, research conducted by departments, a central library, sports facilities, and enough dormitory room to host the majority of students who require campus residence.
Abbottabad Campus
It was in October of 2002 when the Abbottabad Campus was officially opened; it is located in the buildings that had housed Ayub Medical College. The reputation of Abbottabad as a city rich in educational institutions contributed to the city’s rise to prominence. Not only has the establishment of a campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar in Abbottabad satisfied a long-standing popular desire, but it has also improved the image of the city as a centre of study.
Bannu Campus
In May of 2002, the Bannu Campus opened its doors for business inside of the building that once housed the comprehensive High School. This has resulted in this formerly underserved region of the middle and southern United States receiving higher education in the engineering sciences. At the moment, there are two typical specialisations available within the engineering sciences field, and there are now ongoing initiatives to combine these two programmes. To transform this location into a facility on par with those found in other parts of the world, significant funds are being invested in strengthening laboratories and modernising infrastructure.
Kohat Campus
On April 3, 2012, the Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) transferred the administrative and academic control of its Engineering Programs to the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Peshawar. At this time, the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering programme is being taught in rented facilities at the UET Kohat Campus. We are collaborating with the government of the province to establish this campus within its very own building.
Jalozai Campus
The Jalozai Campus was officially opened for business in December of the previous year by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan. On Pabbi Cherat Road in the district of Nowshera, the campus that is being built at a cost of Rs. 6,565,272 Million and which is being sponsored by HEC is now 11 kilometres southward from GT Road. The overall area of the campus is 402 acres, and the total covered space is approximately 1,021,233 square feet. There are around 3,240 students that live on campus. The Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree programmes are all currently available to students at the UET Jalozai Campus.
As a part of UET’s larger mission to offer its scholars with a worldwide perspective, the university has established and maintained academic connections with some of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world located in other countries.
