The Urban Unit Jobs 2023 Apply Now The Government of Punjab has declared Urban Unit Jobs 2022 in Lahore via an online job portal www.urbanunit.gov.pk. The Urban Sector Planning & Management Services Unit (Urban Unit), Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab, has been working to create sustainable urban solutions for Pakistani cities. It has been crucial in reshaping urban culture by supporting governments in making cities functional, attractive, and sustainable. The urban unit is seeking extremely qualified and self-motivated employees for the following project-based opportunities.

2006 – 2021 THE URBAN UNIT
The Urban Unit was established in 2005 as a Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Punjab Government’s Planning and Development Department. The PMU was changed into an independent private sector business in 2012, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and is wholly owned by the Punjab government.

WHO ARE WE?
Creating sustainable urban solutions has been a component of the Urban Unit’s ethos since its inception 15 years ago. We rewrite the country’s development narrative, moving away from dogmatic adherence to rural development paradigms and toward exploiting the benefits of agglomeration, industrialization, and the establishment of a “system of cities” for quicker economic growth.

As pioneers in establishing capacity-building approaches as a cornerstone of technical help through close collaboration, we also offer IT-based bespoke solutions developed in-house to meet the needs of our clients and partner organisations.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO?
The Urban Unit’s mandate is to provide policy advice and services to public and private sector organisations in areas such as Housing and Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, Urban Transport, Solid Waste Management, Water & Sanitation, Urban Economic & Municipal Finance, Institutional Development, Capacity Building, and Service Delivery Improvement. Aside from all technical areas, we provide extensive guidance and support in communication, branding, marketing, and stakeholder involvement as needed.

STRATEGY
The Urban Unit is assisting the government in formulating policies and implementing strategies by utilising an evidence-based data-driven Decision Support System – assisting them in achieving their development/service delivery targets by adapting as a proactive approach via Big Data Analysis, Information Visualization, Predictive Modeling, and Artificial Intelligence techniques.

It is leveraging the convergence of Big Data, Connectivity, and Artificial Intelligence to assist government departments in embracing new paradigms such as Industry 4.0, the Integrated Smart Agriculture Revolution, and the digitization of the knowledge-based service economy.

The Urban Unit has a well-articulated and well-written code of conduct for employees’ workplace behaviour. It describes Urban Unit’s vision, objectives, and beliefs, connects them to professional behaviour standards, and guides staff in their day-to-day decision making.
