2K Games opened the Gamescom Opening Night Live Stream with the introduction of Borderlands 4. The game of the production, which did not receive much attention as a movie, was appreciated by thousands of users.
Borderlands 4 is a game developed by Gearbox Software, the studio responsible for all the main games in the series. The Gearbox CEO stated that Borderlands 4 has been in development for “a few years.”
The announcement of Borderlands 4 came after the film adaptation of the series starring Cate Blanchett failed at the box office.

Pitchford. “All of us at Gearbox have big goals for Borderlands 4, and we’re doing everything we can to make everything we love about Borderlands better than ever, and to take the game in exciting new directions and to new levels.”
What is the Release Date?
The Borderlands 4 release date is not yet known, but Gearbox Software has confirmed that the Borderlands 4 release date will be 2025 , although the developer is keen to avoid giving a date.
We also know that it will be in “Take-Two’s Fiscal Year 2026”, so we expect a fall release. This also aligns with the main Borderlands trilogy, which released in September and October. Borderlands 3 was released in 2019, while the spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderland was released in 2022.

The developers will not be radically changing the structure of this new Borderlands game.
Borderlands 4 remains a looter shooter, as you “take on the role of a legendary Vault Hunter ” as you “blast your way through hordes of enemies on a new planet looking for new treasures to loot.”
On Which Platforms Can We Access Borderlands 4?
Borderlands 4 will be released on PC , PS5 , and Xbox Series X. 2K Games has confirmed that the game will be released on both the Epic Game Store and Steam stores. While Gearbox hasn’t confirmed this outright, it appears that Borderlands 4 won’t be available on PS4 or Xbox One, as the platforms weren’t mentioned in the reveal trailer.
