Fortnite Cheater Earns $11K, Now Risks Jail

Not everyone plays Fortnite fairly. One sly guy dared to break the rules and made money, but now he’s under threat.

The free-to-play platform game Fortnite attracts the attention of a variety of gamers. Sometimes cheating is limited to just a “regular” game, but especially distinguished individuals try to reach a higher level and break into the eSports scene – to participate in competitions and cleverly defeat everyone, having received a cheat advantage.

In pursuit of victory (and prize money), a user named Munkspurm decided to use cheats. Epic Games eventually identified the offender and issued a ban.

However, he has already managed to earn some money – Munkspurm bragged on a social network that he “raised 11 thousand” dollars on the game. Judging by his post, he used a cheating method when the game is launched on one PC, and the cheats themselves on another.

Fortnite community members hope that the perpetrator (or group) will be found and the money they ill-gotten will be returned. They say that such “tricks” for the cheater can end not just with a game ban, but with a real prison term.
